Wedding Top Tips - Photo & GIF Booth | PROP Photo Booths

Here is the 12th instalment of my blog series “Wedding Top Tips” and it’s all about photo & GIF booths this time as I'm interviewing Clare Gilbey from PROP Photo & GIF Booths. I first found out about PROP during a Christmas party for London based wedding suppliers. I immediately feel in love with the brand and the fun photos and GIFs I created that evening.

Tell us a bit more about your company and how it came about?

We provide open GIF Booths and Photo Booths for couples who are looking for really fun entertainment which also looks good too. Our booths come with stylish and modern backdrops, from neon lights to fern walls, so they are perfect for fun, contemporary weddings.

The business came about when my boyfriend Teddy and I went to a wedding in Australia and were really impressed by the photo booth they had – it was really sleek and not like anything we had seen before. We love creating stuff and we thought let’s see if we can try and make our own photo booth and with a bit of trial and error we created a prototype. We are at an age where we are going to a lot of weddings so it didn’t take long for friends and family to ask if we could provide a photo booth for them and so PROP Photo Booths was born.

What has been the best or most memorable wedding you've worked on so far?

We love themed weddings! Weddings are such a personal experience and it’s really satisfying when you work with couples that really embrace this. One of our favourites was a wedding for a couple who loved all things gothic. They chose One Friendly Place for the venue, which suited them perfectly and decked it out in amazing dramatic crimson bouquets and dark foliage. There were gothic cocktails, a tattoo stand and even a post punk band to top the night off.

Not only was it a great wedding to attend but it gave us the opportunity to source some amazing props for the photo booth - lots of black veils, vintage masks and crows! It was such an amazing day and so completely authentic to the couple.

What are your 2 top tips for brides and grooms to be?

When booking a photo booth, our top tips would be:

1. Try and book a company with fun, engaging photo booth attendants. A good booth attendant will be really welcoming and encourage your guests to use the booth. This is really important, particularly at the beginning of the night when people might be a little shy!

2. Think about incorporating your wedding theme in the booth. We have a really wide range of props and backdrops for couples to choose from and we always try and make sure that the booth reflects their style. Guests will not only enjoy the themed props and backdrop on the night but they will have the photos afterwards to remember the evening.
